Ten years had passed since the initial outbreak occurred. Nobody wanted to believe what was happening, but how could they ignore the facts? People would get attacked, die, and come back to life to repeat the process on others. They could only be stopped by a complete shutdown of the nervous system - the easiest form being destruction directly to the brain. The survivors created nicknames for them such as "zeds", "z's", "fortics", or "dead heads". No matter what they were named, the truth still stood firm: these were zombies.

Strips of sunlight that managed to sneak through the bars on the windows awoke Ryko. He blinked once, then twice, and finally gave up on trying to fall back to sleep. The shirtless man rose to his feet and stepped over various sleeping bodies that littered the same room. The man was trying to maneuver his way towards a lone sink next to the only door in the room.   
Ryko turned a knob and waited a moment for the rust-filled, yellow colored water to pass through until it seemed to get as clear as possible for traveling through the old pipes. He slipped his hands beneath the faucet to the The Second Rising

A truck filled with tired, worn men bumped along a nameless road into the night. Each man carried a large rifle of some sort. They were unshaven and unclean. They were scarred and angry. The majority of the men were staring at Mike. A rock from the truck made him open his eyes slowly. He looked around at all the faces he had grown to know in the past few weeks. They all looked the same to him, and he looked like all of them.   
His eyes drifted down to the floor of the truck, and the men who were watching him earlier continued to hold their gaze. Some looked to others, and a few shrugged. Several shook the The Final Chapter

The parade was a tornado of sights and sounds, and I was in the middle of it all. I moved on slowly. There were so many innocent people. I had no idea who to attack first. All kinds of people were cheering: Old people, young people, men, women, rich, poor. They all stood watching the parade move down the street. They were all unaware that the end was far from over. If anything, the beginning had never even arrived yet. I was still alive. All these people were soon about to be the opposite of that. I pushed forward towards the main attraction.

So I think I'm going to jump on the bandwagon of getting the fuck out of Dev. I never post anything on here, and up until earlier today I only deleted MOST of the shit anyone else puts up here. Now I just delete it all. I'm hardcore like that. Any new writing that I end up doing I'll just keep to mah damn self. Ya'll don't really comment anyways. But I'll leave you all with an update for things to come.

So I'm moving into my apartment tomorrow out at NIU. I'm getting three roommates, all of them 21. Basically I was told I'm going to go from 0 to 60 in the drinking world. I'm looking forward to it. Lots of vomit. Lots of smokes. Lots of bad choices. It's what college is about.

Oh yah, and jaeger naps.

I'm taking 18 credit hours worth of classes. That's 6 classes. This isn't that much, but I've got to throw in work and plasma donation along with that.

Oh yah, and I totally lied my balls off about getting a new tattoo three weeks ago. So I've successfully set up my donation-ing.

This year is gonna rock, and I'm not letting anything change that. Not a damn thing.
